The elder unto the wellbelovedGaius,whomIloveina the truth.2Beloved, I wishbabove all things that thou mayest prosperand be in health , even asthysoulprospereth .
3For I rejoicedgreatly, when the brethrencameandtestified of the truth that is in thee, even asthouwalkestin the truth.4
I havenogreaterjoy than tohear that mychildrenwalkintruth.5Beloved, thou doestfaithfullywhatsoeverthoudoestto the brethren,andtostrangers;6Which have borne witness of thycharitybefore the church:whom if thou bring forward on their journeyafterc a godlysort, thou shalt dowell:7
Because thatforhisname'ssake they went forth , takingnothingof the Gentiles.8Wethereforeought to receivesuch,that we might befellowhelpersd to the truth.9
I wrote unto the church:butDiotrephes,who loveth to have the preeminence among them,receivethusnot.10Wherefore , if I come , I will rememberhisdeedswhich he doeth , prating againstuswith malicious words:andnotcontenttherewith , neitherdoth he himselfreceive the brethren,andforbiddeth them that would , andcasteth them out of the church.
