10Said with a loudvoice,Standuprightonthyfeet.And he leapedandwalked .
11And when the peoplesawwhatPaul had done , they lifted uptheirvoices,saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come downtous in the likeness of men.12And they calledBarnabas , Jupiter;andPaul,Mercurius,becausehewas the chiefspeaker.13Then the priest of Jupiter,whichwasbeforetheircity,broughtoxenandgarlandsunto the gates, and would have done sacrificewith the people.14
Which when the apostles,BarnabasandPaul,heard of, they renttheirclothes, and ran in among the people, crying out ,
15Andsaying , Sirs,why do ye these things?Wealsoaremen of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turnfromthesevanitiesunto the livingGod,whichmadeheaven,andearth,and the sea,and all things that are therein :
16Whointimespastsufferedallnations to walk in their ownways.17Neverthelessheleftnothimself without witness, in that he did good , and gaveusrain from heaven,andfruitfulseasons,fillingourhearts with foodandgladness.18And with thesesayingsscarce restrained they the people, that they hadnot done sacrifice unto them.19And there came thither certain JewsfromAntiochandIconium,whopersuaded the people,and, having stonedPaul,drew him out of the city,supposinghe had been dead .
20Howbeit, as the disciples stood round abouthim, he rose up , and cameinto the city:and the next day he departedwithBarnabastoDerbe.
