23For as I passed by , andbeheldyourdevotions ,a I found an altar with thisinscription , TO THE UNKNOWNGOD.Whomtherefore ye ignorantlyworship , himdeclareI unto you.24God that made the worldand all thingstherein , seeing that heisLord of heavenandearth, dwellethnotintemples made with hands;25Neither is worshippedwithmen'shands, as though he needed any thing, seeing hegiveth to alllife, andbreath, and all things;26And hath madeofonebloodallnations of men for to dwellonall the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed , and the bounds of theirhabitation;27
That they should seek the Lord, ifhaply they might feel after him,and find him , though he benotfarfromeveryone of us:28Forinhim we live , andmove , and have our being ; ascertainalso of yourownpoets have said , For we arealsohisoffspring.29
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we oughtnot to think that the Godheadislike unto gold, orsilver, orstone, graven by artandman'sdevice.30Andthetimes of this ignoranceGod winked at ; but nowcommandethallmen every where to repent :
31Because he hath appointed a day,in the which he willjudge the worldinrighteousnessby that manwhom he hath ordained ; whereof he hath givenbassurance unto all men, in that he hath raisedhimfrom the dead.32And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, somemocked : and others said , We will heartheeagainofthis matter.
