1Andafter the uproar was ceased , Paulcalled unto him the disciples, andembraced them, and departed for to gointoMacedonia.2And when he had gone overthoseparts, and had giventhemmuchexhortation , he cameintoGreece,3And there abodethreemonths. And when the Jewslaidwait for him, as he was about to sailintoSyria, he purposed to returnthroughMacedonia.4And there accompaniedhimintoAsiaSopater of Berea;and of the Thessalonians,AristarchusandSecundus;andGaius of Derbe, andTimotheus;and of Asia,TychicusandTrophimus.5These going beforetarried for usatTroas.6Andwe sailed awayfromPhilippiafter the days of unleavened bread, andcameuntothemtoTroasinfivedays;where we abodesevendays.7Andupon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to breakbread,Paulpreached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow;andcontinued his speechuntilmidnight.8And there weremanylightsin the upper chamber, where they were gathered together .
9And there satin a window a certain young mannamedEutychus, being fallen into a deepsleep: and as Paul was longpreaching , he sunk downwithsleep, and fell downfrom the third loft, and was taken updead.10AndPaul went down , and fell onhim, andembracing him said , Troublenotyourselves ; forhislifeisinhim.11Whenhe therefore was come up again , and had brokenbread, andeaten , andtalked a long while, even till break of day,so he departed .
12And they brought the young manalive , andwerenot a littlecomforted .
13Andwe went beforetoship, and saileduntoAssos, thereintending to take inPaul:forso had heappointed , mindinghimself to go afoot .
14Andwhen he met with usatAssos, we tookhimin , and cametoMitylene.15And we sailedthence, and came the next day over againstChios;and the next day we arrivedatSamos, andtarriedatTrogyllium; and the next day we cametoMiletus.16ForPaul had determined to sail byEphesus, becausehewouldnot spend the timeinAsia:for he hasted , if it werepossible for him, to beatJerusalem the day of Pentecost.17AndfromMiletus he senttoEphesus, and called the elders of the church.18Andwhen they were cometohim, he said unto them,Yeknow , from the firstdaythatIcameintoAsia, after what manner I have beenwithyou at allseasons,19Serving the Lordwithall humility of mind, and with manytears, andtemptations, whichbefellmeby the lying in wait of the Jews:20
And how I kept backnothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewedyou, and have taughtyoupublickly, andfrom house to house,21Testifyingboth to the Jews, and also to the Greeks,repentancetowardGod,andfaithtowardourLordJesusChrist.22Andnow,behold , Igobound in the spirituntoJerusalem, notknowing the things that shall befallmethere :
23Savethat the HolyGhostwitnesseth in everycity,sayingthatbondsandafflictionsabideme.a24Butnone of these things move me , neither count Imylifedear unto myself,so that I might finishmycoursewithjoy, and the ministry, which I have receivedof the LordJesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.25Andnow,behold , Iknowthatyeall, amongwhom I have gonepreaching the kingdom of God, shall seemyface no more.26Wherefore I takeyou to recordthisday, thatI am purefrom the blood of all men.
27For I havenotshunned to declare unto youall the counsel of God.28
Take heedtherefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the HolyGhost hath madeyouoverseers, to feed the church of God,which he hath purchasedwith his ownblood.29ForIknowthis,thataftermydeparting shall grievouswolves enter inamongyou, notsparing the flock.30Alsoofyour own selvesshallmenarise , speaking perverse things , to draw awaydisciplesafterthem.31Thereforewatch , and remember , that by the space of three years I ceasednot to warneveryonenightanddaywithtears.32Andnow,brethren, I commendyou to God,and to the word of hisgrace, which is able to build you up , and to giveyou an inheritanceamongall them which are sanctified .
33
I have coveted no man'ssilver,orgold,orapparel.34Yea, ye yourselvesknow , thatthesehands have ministered unto mynecessities, and to them that werewithme.35
I have shewedyou all things, how thatsolabouring ye ought to support the weak , and to remember the words of the LordJesus, howhesaid , It ismoreblessed to givethan to receive .
36And when he had thusspoken , hekneeleddown , and prayedwiththemall.37And they allweptsore, andfellonPaul'sneck, and kissedhim,38Sorrowing most of allfor the wordswhich he spake , that they shouldseehisface no more. And they accompaniedhimunto the ship.
