1Verily,verily, I say unto you, He that enterethnotby the doorinto the sheepfold , but climbeth up some other way, the sameis a thiefand a robber.2But he that entereth inby the dooris the shepherd of the sheep.3To him the porteropeneth ; and the sheephearhisvoice:and he calleth his ownsheepbyname,andleadeththemout .4Andwhen he putteth forth his ownsheep, he goethbeforethem,and the sheepfollowhim:for they knowhisvoice.5And a stranger will theynotfollow , but will fleefromhim:for they knownot the voice of strangers.6ThisparablespakeJesus unto them:buttheyunderstoodnot what things they werewhich he spake unto them.7ThensaidJesus unto themagain,Verily,verily, I say unto you , Iam the door of the sheep.8All that evercamebeforemearethievesandrobbers:but the sheepdidnothearthem.9Iam the door:bymeif any man enter in , he shall be saved , and shall go inandout , andfindpasture.10The thiefcomethnot,but for tosteal , and to kill , and to destroy : I am comethat they might havelife,and that they might have it more abundantly.11Iam the goodshepherd: the goodshepherdgivethhislifefor the sheep.12But he that is an hireling,andnot the shepherd,whoseown the sheeparenot,seeth the wolfcoming , andleaveth the sheep,andfleeth : and the wolfcatcheththem,andscattereth the sheep.13Thehirelingfleeth , because he is an hireling,andcarethnotfor the sheep.14Iam the goodshepherd,andknowmy sheep, and am knownofmine.15As the Fatherknowethme, even soknowI the Father:and I lay downmylifefor the sheep.16Andothersheep I have , whicharenotofthisfold: them alsoImustbring , and they shall hearmyvoice;and there shall beonefold, and oneshepherd.17Thereforedoth my Fatherloveme,becauseI lay downmylife,that I might takeitagain.18No mantakethitfromme,butIlayitdownofmyself. I havepower to layitdown , and I havepower to takeitagain.Thiscommandment have I receivedofmyFather.19
There was a divisionthereforeagainamong the Jewsforthesesayings.20Andmanyofthemsaid , He hath a devil,and is mad ; why hear yehim?21Otherssaid , Thesearenot the words of him that hath a devil . Can a devilopen the eyes of the blind?22And it wasatJerusalem the feast of the dedication,and it waswinter.23AndJesuswalkedin the templeinSolomon'sporch.24Thencame the Jews round abouthim,andsaid unto him, How longdost thou makeaus to doubt?Ifthoube the Christ,tellusplainly.25Jesusansweredthem,I toldyou,and ye believednot: the worksthatIdoinmyFather'sname,they bear witnessofme.26Butyebelievenot,because ye arenotofmysheep,as I said unto you.27Mysheephearmyvoice, and Iknowthem,and they followme:28And Igive unto themeternallife;and they shallneverperish , neithershallany man pluckthem out ofmyhand.29MyFather,whichgave them me,is greater thanall;andno man is able to pluck them out ofmyFather'shand.30Iand my Fatherareone.31Then the Jews took upstonesagaintostonehim.32Jesusansweredthem,Manygoodworks have I shewedyoufrommyFather;forwhich of thoseworks do ye stoneme?33
The Jewsansweredhim,saying , For a goodwork we stonetheenot;butforblasphemy;andbecause that thou,being a man,makestthyselfGod.34Jesusansweredthem,Is itnotwritteninyourlaw,Isaid , Ye aregods?35If he calledthemgods,untowhom the word of Godcame , and the scripturecannot be broken ;36Sayye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified , andsentinto the world , Thou blasphemest ; because I said , I am the Son of God?37If I donot the works of myFather,believemenot.38Butif I do , though ye believenotme,believe the works:that ye may know , andbelieve , that the Father is inme, and Iinhim.39Therefore they soughtagain to takehim:but he escaped out oftheirhand,40And went awayagainbeyondJordaninto the placewhereJohn at firstbaptized ; andthere he abode .
41Andmanyresorteduntohim,andsaid , Johndidnomiracle:but all thingsthatJohnspakeof this manweretrue.42Andmanybelievedonhimthere.
