1Thencame to JesusscribesandPharisees, which were ofJerusalem,saying ,
2Why do thydisciplestransgress the tradition of the elders?for they washnottheirhandswhen they eatbread.3But he answered and said unto them,Why do yealsotransgress the commandment of Godbyyourtradition?4ForGodcommanded , saying , Honourthyfatherandmother:and, He that cursethfatherormother, let him die the death.5Butyesay , Whosoevershallsay to his fatheror his mother, It is a gift, bywhatsoeverthou mightest be profited by me;6Andhonournothisfatherorhismother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effectbyyourtradition.7Ye hypocrites, welldidEsaiasprophesyofyou, saying ,8Thispeople draweth nigh unto me with theirmouth, andhonourethme with their lips;buttheirheartisfarfromme.9But in vain they do worshipme, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.10And he called the multitude, and said unto them,Hear , andunderstand :11Not that which goethinto the mouthdefileth a man;but that which cometh out of the mouth, thisdefileth a man.12Thencamehisdisciples, and said unto him, Knowest thouthat the Pharisees were offended , after they heard this saying?13But he answered and said , Everyplant, whichmyheavenlyFatherhathnotplanted , shall be rooted up .14Letthemalone : they beblindleaders of the blind.Andif the blindlead the blind, both shall fallinto the ditch.15ThenansweredPeter and said unto him,Declare unto usthisparable.16AndJesussaid , Areyealsoyet without understanding?17Donotyeyetunderstand , thatwhatsoever entereth inat the mouthgoethinto the belly, and is cast outinto the draught?18But those things whichproceed out of the mouth come forthfrom the heart; and theydefile the man.19For out of the heartproceedevilthoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness,blasphemies:20Theseare the things whichdefile a man:but to eat with unwashenhandsdefilethnot a man.21ThenJesuswentthence, and departedinto the coasts of TyreandSidon.22And,behold , a woman of Canaancame out of the samecoasts, and cried unto him, saying , Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David;mydaughter is grievously vexed with a devil .
23But he answeredhernot a word.Andhisdisciplescame and besoughthim, saying , Sendheraway ; for she criethafterus.24But he answered and said , I amnotsentbutunto the lostsheep of the house of Israel.25Then came she and worshippedhim, saying , Lord,helpme.26But he answered and said , It isnotmeet to take the children'sbread, and to cast it to dogs.27And she said , Truth,Lord:yetthedogseatof the crumbswhichfallfromtheirmasters'table.28ThenJesusanswered and said unto her,Owoman, great is thyfaith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt .Andherdaughter was made wholefrom that veryhour.29AndJesusdeparted from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee;and went upinto a mountain, and sat downthere.30Andgreatmultitudescame unto him, havingwith them those that werelame, blind, dumb, maimed, andmanyothers, andcastthemdownatJesus'feet;and he healedthem:31
Insomuch that the multitudewondered , when they saw the dumb to speak , the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk , and the blind to see : and they glorified the God of Israel.32ThenJesuscalledhisdisciples unto him, and said , I have compassionon the multitude, because they continue with menowthreedays, andhavenothingtoeat : and I willnotsendthemawayfasting, lest they faintin the way.33Andhisdisciplessay unto him,Whence should we have so muchbreadin the wilderness,as to fill so great a multitude?34AndJesussaith unto them,How manyloaves have ye ?And they said , Seven, and a few little fishes.35And he commanded the multitude to sit downon the ground.36And he took the sevenloavesand the fishes, and gave thanks , and brake them, andgave to hisdisciples, and the disciples to the multitude.37And they didalleat , and were filled : and they took up of the broken meat that was leftsevenbasketsfull.38And they that did eatwere four thousandmen,besidewomenandchildren.39And he sent away the multitude, and tookship , andcameinto the coasts of Magdala.
