Which also said , Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer , he hath so fulfilled .
And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage , and entreat them evil four hundred years.
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer , so opened he not his mouth:
And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself , and bind on thy sandals. And so he did . And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
And they said unto her, Thou art mad . But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they , It is his angel.
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation ) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise , I will give you the sure mercies of David.
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake , that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed .
So Paul departed from among them.
So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed .
When he therefore was come up again , and had broken bread, and eaten , and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed .
And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed , minding himself to go afoot .
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak , and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said , It is more blessed to give than to receive .
And when he was come unto us , he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said , Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said , Be of good cheer , Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
Which when they had taken up , they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven .
Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer : for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship . And so it came to pass , that they escaped all safe to land.
Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.
