As for my people, children are their oppressors , and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err , and destroy the way of thy paths.
And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying , We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled , and their wives ravished .
In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
When the boughs thereof are withered , they shall be broken off : the women come , and set them on fire : for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour .
Rise up , ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
There shall the great owl make her nest , and lay , and hatch , and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered , every one with her mate.
Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read : no one of these shall fail , none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded , and his spirit it hath gathered them.
Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth ?
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget , yet will I not forget thee.
For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused , saith thy God.
