Teach me, and I will hold my tongue : and cause me to understand wherein I have erred .
Is there iniquity in my tongue? cannot my taste discern perverse things?
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?
Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.
His sons come to honour , and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low , but he perceiveth it not of them.
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark , and afterwards we will speak .
I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider , I am afraid of him.
Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand ?
God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up , and thou regardest me not.
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding .
Great men are not always wise : neither do the aged understand judgment.
Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still , and consider the wondrous works of God.
Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
