But the days will come , when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
Blessed are ye , when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
They on the rock are they, which, when they hear , receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe , and in time of temptation fall away .
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed , when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
And he said unto them, When ye pray , say , Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come . Thy will be done , as in heaven, so in earth.
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith , I will return unto my house whence I came out .
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light .
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer , or what ye shall say :
And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say , There cometh a shower; and so it is .
And when ye see the south wind blow , ye say , There will be heat; and it cometh to pass .
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
But when thou art bidden , go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh , he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again , and a recompence be made thee.
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
I am resolved what to do , that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail , they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say , We are unprofitable servants : we have done that which was our duty to do .
And they asked him, saying , Master, but when shall these things be ? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass ?
But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified : for these things must first come to pass ; but the end is not by and by.
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh .
When they now shoot forth , ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass , know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
