But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said , He hath Beelzebub , and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed , and after three days rise again .
And they asked him, saying , Why say the scribes that Elias must first come ?
And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them ?
Saying, Behold , we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
And one of the scribes came , and having heard them reasoning together , and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
And Jesus answered and said , while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death .
And immediately, while he yet spake , cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away , and delivered him to Pilate.
Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save .
