And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am ? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying , Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo , we have left all, and have followed thee.
And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away .
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately ,
But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended , yet will not I.
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed , and to be very heavy ;
And he cometh , and findeth them sleeping , and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou ? couldest not thou watch one hour?
And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.
And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:
And when she saw Peter warming himself , she looked upon him, and said , And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.
And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
And the second time the cock crew . And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him , Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon , he wept .
But go your way , tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
