I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear : he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
And Jesus, when he was baptized , went up straightway out of the water: and, lo , the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
When the even was come , they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils : and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out , and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
For it is not ye that speak , but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen ; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased : I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come .
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Then goeth he , and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying ,
Watch and pray , that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
