Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe your commands.

Before I was afflicted, I was going astray, but now I heed your word.

You [are] good and do good; teach me your statutes.

[The] arrogant smear me with lies; I keep your precepts with [my] whole heart.

Their heart [is] insensitive like fat; As for me, I take delight in your law.

[It is] good for me that I was afflicted, so that I might learn your statutes.

The law of your mouth [is] better to me than thousands of gold and silver [coins].
