The Burnt Offering

1 The LORD called to Moses¹ and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting.² He said, 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When any of you brings an offering to the LORD,³ bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.⁴ 3 " 'If the offering is a burnt offering⁵ from the herd,⁶ he is to offer a male without defect.⁷ He must present it at the entrance to the Tent⁸ of Meeting so that it^a will be acceptable⁹ to the LORD. 4 He is to lay his hand on the head¹⁰ of the burnt offering,¹¹ and it will be accepted¹² on his behalf to make atonement¹³ for him. 5 He is to slaughter¹⁴ the young bull¹⁵ before the LORD, and then Aaron's sons¹⁶ the priests shall bring the blood and sprinkle it against the altar on all sides¹⁷ at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
