Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.11The poor you will always have with you,1 but you will not always have me.12When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.213I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."

Then one of the Twelve--the one called Judas Iscariot3--went to the chief priests

and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.416
From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread,5 the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"618
He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time7 is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.' "19
So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.
