Romans 4:22

22 That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right."

Romans 4:22 Meaning and Commentary

Romans 4:22

And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
] Not because his faith was strong, and he had a full assurance of it, but because it was right, resting on the promise of God, and relying upon his power and faithfulness to perform it; for though the righteousness of faith is not imputed to any sort of believers, not to mere nominal ones, yet to all such as have true faith, though it may be but weak; for faith, as to nature, kind, and object, though not as to degree, is the same in all true believers, and the same righteousness is imputed to one as to another.

Romans 4:22 In-Context

20 He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God,
21 sure that God would make good on what he had said.
22 That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right."
23 But it's not just Abraham;
24 it's also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless.
