Who can withstand16 his indignation? Who can endure17 his fierce anger?18 His wrath is poured out like fire;19 the rocks are shattered20 before him.
The LORD is good,21 a refuge in times of trouble.22 He cares for23 those who trust in him,24
but with an overwhelming flood25 he will make an end of [Nineveh]; he will pursue his foes into darkness.
Whatever they plot26 against the LORD he will bring to an end; trouble will not come a second time.
They will be entangled among thorns27 and drunk28 from their wine; they will be consumed like dry stubble.29
