1 And when I came to you, brethren, I 1did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you 2the atestimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except 3Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in 4weakness and in 5fear and in much trembling, 4 and my bmessage and my preaching were 6not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of 7the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not crest on the wisdom of men, but on 8the power of God. 6 Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are 9mature ; a wisdom, however, not of 10this age nor of the rulers of 11this age, who are 12passing away ; 7 but we speak God's wisdom in a 13mystery, the hidden wisdom which God 14predestined before the 15ages to our glory ; 8 the wisdom 16which none of the rulers of 17this age has understood ; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified 18the Lord of glory ; 9 but just as it is written, "19THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, California.
