For 1I received from the Lord that which I alsodelivered to you, that 2the LordJesus in the night in which He was betrayedtookbread;
and when He had giventhanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; dothis in remembrance of Me."25
In the sameway He took 3the cupalsoaftersupper, saying, "Thiscup is the 4newcovenant in My blood; dothis, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."26
For as often as you eatthisbread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord'sdeath5until He comes.
27Thereforewhoevereats the breadordrinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthymanner, shall be 6guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
But a man must 7examinehimself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinksjudgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
For thisreasonmanyamong you are weak and sick, and a numbera8sleep.
