In 1the Law it is written, "2BY MEN OF STRANGETONGUES AND BY THE LIPS OF STRANGERS I WILL SPEAK TO THISPEOPLE, AND EVENSO THEY WILL NOT LISTEN TO ME," says the Lord.
22Sothentongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers ; but 3prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe.
23Thereforeif the wholechurchassemblestogether and allspeak in tongues, and aungiftedmenorunbelieversenter, will they not say that 4you are mad ?
But ifall5prophesy, and an unbelieveror an bungiftedmanenters, he is 6convicted by all, he is called to account by all ;
257the secrets of his heart are disclosed ; and so he will 8fall on his face and worshipGod, 9declaring that God is certainlyamong you.
2610What is the outcome then, 11brethren ? When you assemble, 12eachonehas a 13psalm, has a 14teaching, has a 15revelation, has a 16tongue, has an 17interpretation. Let 18allthings be done for edification.
27Ifanyonespeaks in a 19tongue, it should be by twoor at the mostthree, and each in turn, and one must 20interpret ;
but if there is nointerpreter, he must keepsilent in the church ; and let him speak to himself and to God.
Let twoorthree21prophetsspeak, and let the others22passjudgment.
But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keepsilent.
For you canallprophesyone by one , so that all may learn and all may be exhorted ;
