So also it is written, "The first 1MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The 2last Adam became a 3life-giving spirit.

However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural ; then the spiritual.

The first man is 4from the earth, a5earthy ; the second man is from heaven.

As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy ; and as is the heavenly, 6so also are those who are heavenly.
49
Just as we have 7borne the image of the earthy, bwe 8will also bear the image of the heavenly.
