4 1These things we write, so that our 2joy may be made complete.

God Is Light

5 3This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that 4God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6 5If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we 6lie and 7do not practice the truth;
7 but if we 8walk in the Light as 9He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and 10the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 11If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the 12truth is not in us.
9 13If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and 14to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 15If we say that we have not sinned, we 16make Him a liar and 17His word is not in us.
