1Therefore, since 1Christ has asuffered in the flesh, 2arm yourselves also with the samepurpose, because3he who has bsuffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
24so as to live5the rest of the time in the fleshnolonger for the lusts of men, but for the 6will of God.
3
For 7the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, c8having pursued a course of sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinkingparties and dabominableidolatries.
4
In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the sameexcesses of 9dissipation, and they 10malign you;
5
but they will giveaccount to Him who is ready to judge11the living and the dead.
6
For 12the gospel has for this purpose been epreachedeven to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spiritaccording to the will of God.
713The end of allthingsfis near ; therefore, 14be of soundjudgment and sober spirit for the purpose of gprayer.
8Aboveall, 15keepfervent in your love for oneanother, because16lovecovers a multitude of sins.
917Be hospitable to oneanotherwithout18complaint.
1019As eachone has received a special gift, employ it in servingoneanother as good20stewards of the manifoldgrace of God.
1121Whoeverspeaks, is to do so has one who is speaking the 22utterances of God ; whoeverserves is to do so as one who is servingi23by the strengthwhichGodsupplies ; so that 24in allthingsGod may be glorifiedthroughJesusChrist, 25to whombelongs the glory and dominionforever and ever. Amen.
