Then Samuel1took a stone and set it betweenMizpah and Shen, and named it aEbenezer, saying, "Thusfar the LORD has helped us."
132So the Philistines were subdued and 3they did not comeanymore within the border of Israel. And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistinesall the days of Samuel.
The citieswhich the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israeldelivered their territory from the hand of the Philistines. So there was peacebetweenIsrael and 4the Amorites.
Now Samuel5judgedIsraelall the days of his life.
He used to goannually on circuit to 6Bethel and 7Gilgal and 8Mizpah, and he judgedIsrael in alltheseplaces.
Then his return was to 9Ramah, for his house was there, and there he judgedIsrael; and he 10builtthere an altar to the LORD.
