But since 1we are of the day, let us 2be asober, having put on the 3breastplate of 4faith and love, and as a 5helmet, the 6hope of salvation.

For God has not destined us for 7wrath, but for 8obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

9who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

Therefore bencourage one another and 10build up one another, just as you also are doing.

12 But we request of you, brethren, that you c11appreciate those 12who diligently labor among you, and 13have charge over you in the Lord and give you dinstruction, 13 and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. 14Live in peace with one another. 14 We urge you, brethren, admonish 15the eunruly, encourage 16the fainthearted, help 17the weak, be 18patient with everyone. 15 See that 19no one repays another with evil for evil, but always 20seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. 16 21Rejoice always ; 17 22pray without ceasing ; 18 in everything 23give thanks ; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, California.
