And he must1have a goodreputation with 2thoseoutside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and 3the snare of the devil.
84Deaconslikewise must be men of dignity, not adouble-tongued, b5oraddicted to muchwinec6orfond of sordidgain,
97but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clearconscience.
108These men must alsofirst be tested ; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyondreproach.
11dWomen must likewise be dignified, 9not maliciousgossips, but 10temperate, faithful in allthings.
1211Deacons must be 12husbands of only onewife, and e13goodmanagers of their children and their ownhouseholds.

For those who have servedwell as deacons14obtain for themselves a fhighstanding and greatconfidence in the faith that is in ChristJesus.
