7 At that time1Hanani the seercame to Asaking of Judah and said to him, "2Because you have relied on the king of Aram and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore* the army of the king of Aram has escaped out of your hand.

"Were not 3the Ethiopians and the Lubim4an immensearmy with verymanychariots and horsemen? Yet 5because you relied on the LORD, He delivered them into your hand.

"For 6the eyes of the LORDmove to and frothroughout the earth that He may stronglysupport those 7whose heart is completely His. You have actedfoolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely havewars."

Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in prison*, for he was enraged at him for this. And Asaoppressedsome of the people at the sametime.

8Now, the acts of Asa from first to last, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

In the thirty-ninth*year of his reignAsabecamediseased in his feet. His disease was severe, yet even in his disease he 9did not seek the LORD, but the physicians.

So Asaslept with his fathers, having died in the forty-first*year of his reign.

They buried him in his own tombwhich he had cut out for himself in the city of David, and they laid him in the restingplacewhich he had filled10with spices of various kindsblended by the perfumers'*art; and 11they made a very*greatfire for him.
