17These are 1springswithoutwater and mistsdriven by a storm, 2for whom the ablackdarkness has been reserved.
For speaking out 3arrogant words of 4vanity they 5entice by fleshlydesires, by 6sensuality, those who barely7escape from the ones who live in error,
19promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption ; for 8by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.
For if, after they have 9escaped the defilements of the world by 10the knowledge of the 11Lord and SaviorJesusChrist, they are again12entangled in them and are overcome, 13the last state has becomeworse for them than the first.
2114For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turnaway from 15the holycommandment16handed on to them.
