2 Peter 2:7-17 (New American Standard)

View In My Bible
7 and if He 1rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the 2sensual conduct of 3unprincipled men 8 (for by what he saw and heard that 4righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds ), 9 5then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from atemptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the 6day of judgment, 10 and especially those who b7indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and 8despise authority. Daring, 9self-willed, they do not tremble when they 10revile angelic cmajesties, 11 11whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But 12these, like unreasoning animals, 13born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in dthe destruction of those creatures also be destroyed, 13 suffering wrong as 14the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to 15revel in the 16daytime. They are stains and blemishes, 17reveling in their edeceptions, as they 18carouse with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, 19enticing 20unstable souls, having a heart trained in 21greed, 22accursed children; 15 forsaking 23the right way, they have gone astray, having followed 24the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved 25the wages of unrighteousness; 16 but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, 26for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet. 17 These are 27springs without water and mists driven by a storm, 28for whom the fblack darkness has been reserved.
