11Paul and 2Silvanus and 3Timothy, To the 4church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the LordJesusChrist:
2
5Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the LordJesusChrist.
3
We oughtalways6to givethanks to God for you, 7brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatlyenlarged, and the 8love of eachone of you towardoneanothergrows ever greater;
4
therefore, we ourselves9speakproudly of you among10the churches of God for your [a]perseverance and faith11in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictionswhich you endure.
5
This is a 12plainindication of God'srighteousjudgmentso that you will be 13consideredworthy of the kingdom of God, for whichindeed you are suffering.
6
[b]For afterall14it is only just[c]for God to repay with afflictionthose who afflict you,
7
and to give relief to you who are afflicted[d]and to us as well [e]15when the LordJesus will be revealed16from heaven17with [f]His mightyangels18in flamingfire,
8
dealing out retribution to those who 19do not knowGod and to those who 20do not obey the gospel of our LordJesus.
9
These will pay the penalty of 21eternaldestruction, 22away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10
when He comes to be 23glorified[g]in His [h]saints on that 24day, and to be marveled at amongall who have believed -for our 25testimony to you was believed.
11
To thisendalso we 26pray for you always, that our God will [i]27count you worthy of your 28calling, and fulfilleverydesire for 29goodness and the 30work of faith with power,
12
so that the 31name of our LordJesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the LordJesusChrist.
