6 Now we command you, brethren, 1in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you a2keep away from every brother who bleads an c3unruly life and not according to 4the tradition which dyou received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to e5follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, 8 nor did we 6eat fanyone's bread gwithout paying for it, but with 7labor and hardship we kept 8working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; 9 not because we do not have 9the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves 10as a model for you, so that you would hfollow our example. 10 For even 11when we were with you, we used to give you this order: 12if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 11 For we hear that some among you are 13leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like 14busybodies. 12 Now such persons we command and 15exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to 16work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. 13 But as for you, 17brethren, 18do not grow weary of doing good. 14 If anyone does not obey our iinstruction j19in this letter, take special note of that person k20and do not associate with him, so that he will be 21put to shame. 15 Yet 22do not regard him as an enemy, but l23admonish him as a 24brother. 16 Now 25may the Lord of peace 26Himself continually grant you peace in every mcircumstance. 27The Lord be with you all!
