therefore, we ourselves 1speak proudly of you among 2the churches of God for your aperseverance and faith 3in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure.
This is a 4plain indication of God's righteous judgment so that you will be 5considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering.
bFor after all 6it is only just cfor God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
and to give relief to you who are afflicted dand to us as well e7when the Lord Jesus will be revealed 8from heaven 9with fHis mighty angels 10in flaming fire,
dealing out retribution to those who 11do not know God and to those who 12do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
These will pay the penalty of 13eternal destruction, 14away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
when He comes to be 15glorified gin His hsaints on that 16day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed -for our 17testimony to you was believed.
