5holding to a form of a1godliness, although they have 2denied its power ; 3Avoid such men as these.
6
For among them are those who b4enter into households and captivatec5weakwomenweigheddown with sins, led on by 6variousimpulses,
7alwayslearning and neverable to 7come to the dknowledge of the truth.

9
But they will not makefurtherprogress ; for their 11folly will be obvious to all, just12as eJannes's and Jambres's folly was also.
10
Now you 13followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, 14love, fperseverance,
1115persecutions, and 16sufferings, such as happened to me at 17Antioch, at 18Iconium and at 19Lystra ; what20persecutions I endured, and out of them all21the Lordrescued me!
12Indeed, all who desire to livegodly in ChristJesus22will be persecuted.
13
But evilmen and impostors23will proceed from bad to worse, 24deceiving and being deceived.
14
You, however, 25continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15
and that 26from childhood you have known27the sacredwritings which are able to 28give you the wisdom that leads to 29salvationthroughfaith which is in 30ChristJesus.
