191Sothenthose who were scatteredbecause of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephenmade their way to 2Phoenicia and 3Cyprus and 4Antioch, speaking the word to nooneexcept to Jewsalone.

But there were some of them, men of 5Cyprus and 6Cyrene, whocame to 7Antioch and began speaking to the 8Greeksalso, 9preaching the LordJesus.

And 10the hand of the Lord was with them, and 11a largenumber who believedturned to the Lord.

The newsabout them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent12Barnabasoff to 13Antioch.

Then when he arrived and witnessed14the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resoluteheart to remain true to the Lord;

for he was a goodman, and 15full of the HolySpirit and of faith. And 16considerablenumbers were brought to the Lord.

and when he had found him, he brought him to 18Antioch. And for an entireyear they met with the church and taughtconsiderablenumbers; and 19the disciples were firstcalled20Christians in 21Antioch.

Now at thistime22some prophetscamedown from Jerusalem to 23Antioch.

One of them named24Agabusstood up and began to indicate by the Spirit that there wouldcertainly be a greatfamine25allover the world. And thistookplace in the reign of 26Claudius.

And in the proportion that any of 27the discipleshadmeans, each of them determined to send a contribution for the relief of 28the brethrenliving in Judea.
