"So, KingAgrippa, I did not provedisobedient to the heavenlyvision,

but kept declaringboth7to those of Damascusfirst, and also 8at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even 9to the Gentiles, that they should 10repent and turn to God, performingdeeds11appropriate to repentance.

"For thisreason some Jews12seized me in the temple and tried13to put me to death.

"So, having obtainedhelp from God, I stand to thisday14testifyingboth to small and great, statingnothing but what15the Prophets and Mosessaid was going to takeplace;

16that the Christ was to suffer, and that 17by reason of His resurrection from the dead He would be the first to proclaim18lightboth to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."

While Paul was sayingthis in his defense, Festussaid in a loudvoice, "Paul, you are out of your mind! Your great19learning is driving you mad."

But Paulsaid, "I am not out of my mind, 20mostexcellentFestus, but I utterwords of sobertruth.

"For the king21knowsaboutthese matters, and I speak to him also with confidence, since I am persuaded that none* of thesethingsescape his notice; for this has not beendone in a corner.

"KingAgrippa, do you believe the Prophets? I know that you do."

Agrippa replied to Paul, "In a shorttime you will persuade me to become a 22Christian."
