Therefore as you have received 1Christ Jesus the Lord, so a2walk in Him,
7
having been firmly 3rooted and now being 4built up in Him and 5established bin your faith, just as you 6were instructed, and overflowing cwith gratitude.
8
7See to it that no one takes you captive through 8philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the 9elementary principles of the world, drather than according to Christ.

For in Him all the 10fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
10
and in Him you have been 11made ecomplete, and 12He is the head fover all 13rule and authority ;
11
and in Him 14you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of 15the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ ;
12
having been 16buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also 17raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who 18raised Him from the dead.

When you were 19dead gin your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He 20made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
14
having canceled out 21the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and 22He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
15
When He had h23disarmed the 24rulers and authorities, He 25made a public display of them, having 26triumphed over them through iHim.
16
Therefore no one is to j27act as your judge in regard to 28food or 29drink or in respect to a 30festival or a 31new moon or a 32Sabbath kday-
17
things which are 33a mere shadow of what is to come ; but the lsubstance mbelongs to Christ.
18
Let no one keep n34defrauding you of your prize by 35delighting in oself-abasement and the worship of the angels, ptaking his stand on visions he has seen, q36inflated without cause by his 37fleshly mind,
19
and not holding fast to 38the head, from whom 39the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and rligaments, grows with a growth swhich is from God.
20
40If you have died with Christ tto the 41elementary principles of the world, 42why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to 43decrees, such as,

"Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch !"
22
(which all refer 44to things destined to perish uwith use )-in accordance with the 45commandments and teachings of men ?

These are matters which have, to be sure, the vappearance of wisdom in w46self-made religion and self-abasement and 47severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against 48fleshly indulgence.
