11Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2
2HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the firstcommandment with a promise ),
3
SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVELONG ON THE EARTH.
4
3Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but 4bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
5
5Slaves, be obedient to those who are your mastersaccording to the flesh, with 6fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, 7as to Christ;
6
8not by way of eyeservice, as 9men-pleasers, but as 10slaves of Christ, 11doing the will of God from the heart.
7
With goodwillrenderservice, 12as to the Lord, and not to men,
8
13knowing that 14whatever*goodthingeachonedoes, this he will receiveback from the Lord, 15whetherslaveorfree.
9
And masters, do the samethings to them, and 16give up threatening, knowing that 17both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is 18nopartiality with Him.

19
and 48pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me 49in the opening of my mouth, to makeknown with 50boldness51the mystery of the gospel,
20
for which I am an 52ambassador53in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak54boldly, 55as I ought to speak.
