But 1immoralityaoranyimpurityorgreed must not even be namedamong you, as is proper among bsaints ;
4
and there must be no 2filthiness and sillytalk, orcoarsejesting, which3are not fitting, but rather4giving of thanks.
5
For this you know with certainty, that 5nocimmoralorimpurepersonorcovetousman, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom6of Christ and God.
67Let noonedeceive you with emptywords, for because of thesethings8the wrath of Godcomes upon 9the sons of disobedience.
7Therefore do not be 10partakers with them;
8
for 11you were formerly12darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord ; walk as 13children of Light9
(for 14the fruit of the Light consists in all15goodness and righteousness and truth ),
10d16trying to learnwhat is pleasing to the Lord.
1117Do not participate in the unfruitful18deeds of 19darkness, but insteadevene20expose them;
12
for it is disgracefuleven to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
13
But allthingsbecomevisible21when they are fexposed by the light, for everything that becomesvisible is light.
14
For thisreasongit says, "22Awake, sleeper, And arise from 23the dead, And Christ24will shine on you."
15Thereforehbe carefulhow you 25walk, not 26as unwisemen but as wise,
16i27making the most of your time, because28the days are evil.
17Sothen do not be foolish, but 29understandwhat the will of the Lord is.
18
And 30do not getdrunk with wine, jfor that is 31dissipation, but be 32filled with the Spirit,
1933speaking to koneanother in 34psalms and 35hymns and spiritual36songs, 37singing and makingmelody with your heart to the Lord ;
2038alwaysgivingthanks for allthings in the name of our LordJesusChrist to l39God, even the Father ;
21m40and be subject to oneanother in the n41fear of Christ.
