4 There is 1one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one 2hope of your calling; 5 3one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all 4who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But 5to each one of us 6grace was given 7according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore ait says, "8WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE 9LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." 9 (Now this expression, "He 10ascended," what bdoes it mean except that He also chad descended into 11the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended 12far above all the heavens, so that He might 13fill all things.) 11 And He 14gave 15some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as 16evangelists, and some as pastors and 17teachers, 12 18for the equipping of the dsaints for the work of service, to the building up of 19the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to 20the unity of the faith, and of the e21knowledge of the Son of God, to a 22mature man, to the measure of the stature fwhich belongs to the 23fullness of Christ. 14 gAs a result, we are 24no longer to be children, 25tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by 26craftiness hin 27deceitful scheming;
