Then I came to the exiles who livedbeside the riverChebar at Tel-abib, and I satthere1sevendayswhere they were living, causingconsternationamong them.
162At the end of sevendays the word of the LORDcame to me, saying,
17"Son of man, I have appointed you a 3watchman to the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, 4warn them from Me.
"When I say to the wicked, 'You will surelydie,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wickedway that he may live, that wickedman shall die in his iniquity, but his 5blood I will require at your hand.
"Yet if you have 6warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wickedway, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have 7deliveredyourself.
"Again, 8when a righteousmanturnsaway from his righteousness and commitsiniquity, and I place an 9obstaclebefore him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousdeedswhich he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.
"However, if you have 10warnedathe righteousman that the righteous should not sin and he does not sin, he shall surelylivebecause he tookwarning; and you have deliveredyourself."
The hand of the LORD was on me there, and He said to me, "Get up, go out to the plain, and there I will 11speak to you."
So I got up and went out to the plain; and behold, the 12glory of the LORD was standingthere, like the glorywhich13I saw by the riverChebar, and I fell on my face.
The 14Spirit then entered me and made me stand on my feet, and He spoke with me and said to me, "Go, shut yourself up in your house.
"As for you, son of man, they will 15putropes on you and bind you with them so that you cannotgo out among them.
