"And these are the measurements of the 1altar by cubits (the 2cubit being a cubit and a handbreadth ): the abase shall be a cubit and the width a cubit, and its border on its edgeroundaboutonespan; and this shall be the height of the bbase of the altar.
"From the base on the ground to the lower3ledge shall be twocubits and the width one cubit; and from the smallerledge to the largerledge shall be fourcubits and the widthconecubit.
"The daltarhearth shall be fourcubits; and from the ealtarhearth shall extend upwardsfour4horns.
"Now the faltarhearth shall be twelve cubits long by twelvewide, 5square in its foursides.
"The ledge shall be fourteen cubits long by fourteenwide in its foursides, the borderaround it shall be half a cubit and its base shall be a cubitroundabout; and its 6steps shall g7face the east."
And He said to me, "8Son of man, thussays the LordhGOD, 'These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is built, to offer9burntofferings on it and to 10sprinkleblood on it.
'You shall give to the Leviticalpriestswho are from the offspring of 11Zadok, who draw12near to Me to minister to Me,' declares the LordGOD, 'a 13youngbull for a 14sinoffering.
'You shall takesome of its blood and put it on its four15horns and on the fourcorners of the 16ledge and on the borderroundabout; thus you shall 17cleanse it and makeatonement for it.
'You shall also take the bull for the sinoffering, and it shall be 18burned in the appointedplace of the house, outside the sanctuary.
'On the secondday you shall offer a 19malegoatwithoutblemish for a sinoffering, and they shall 20cleanse the altar as they cleansed it with the bull.
'When you have finishedcleansing it, you shall present a 21youngbullwithoutblemish and a 22ramwithoutblemish from the flock.
