1 Then it came about afterthesethings, 1the cupbearer and the baker for the king of Egyptoffended their lord, the king of Egypt.

Pharaoh was 2furious with his twoofficials, the chiefcupbearer and the chiefbaker.

So he put them in confinement in the house of the 3captain of the bodyguard, in the jail*, the same placewhere*Joseph was imprisoned.

The captain of the bodyguardputJoseph in charge of them, and he tookcare of them; and they were in confinement for sometime.

Then the cupbearer and the baker for the king of Egypt, who were confined in jail*, bothhad a dream the samenight, eachman with his own dream and eachdream with its own interpretation.

When Josephcame to them in the morning and observed them, behold, they were dejected.

He askedPharaoh'sofficialswho were with him in confinement in his master'shouse, "4Why are your faces so sadtoday?"

Then they said to him, "5We have had a dream and there is noone to interpret it." Then Josephsaid to them, "6Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, please."
