1He wept** so loudly that the Egyptiansheard it, and the household of Pharaohheard of it.

Then Josephsaid to his brothers, "2I am Joseph! 3Is my fatherstillalive?" But his brotherscould not answer him, for 4they were dismayed at his presence.

Then Josephsaid to his brothers, "Pleasecomecloser to me." And they camecloser. And he said, "I am your brotherJoseph, whom you 5sold into Egypt.

"Now do not be grieved or angry with yourselves, because6you sold me here, for 7Godsent me before you to preservelife.

"For the famine has been in the land8these two years, and there are stillfiveyears in whichthere will be neitherplowingnorharvesting.

"9Godsent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a greatdeliverance.

"Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a 10father to Pharaoh and lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

"Hurry and go up to my father, and 11say to him, 'Thussays your sonJoseph, "God has made me lord of allEgypt; comedown to me, do not delay.

"You shall live in the land of 12Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children'schildren and your flocks and your herds and all that you have.

"There I will also 13provide for you, for there are stillfiveyears of famine to come, and you and your household and all that you have would be impoverished."'

"Behold, your eyessee, and the eyes of my brotherBenjamin see, that it is my mouth which is speaking to you.
