The Peril of Falling Away
1 Therefore 1leaving 2the aelementary teaching about the bChrist, let us press on to c3maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from 4dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of 5instruction about washings and 6laying on of hands, and the 7resurrection of the dead and 8eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do, 9if God permits. 4 For in the case of those who have once been 10enlightened and have tasted of 11the heavenly gift and have been made 12partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and 13have tasted the good 14word of God and the powers of 15the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, it is 16impossible to renew them again to repentance, d17since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. 7 For ground that drinks the rain which often efalls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those 18for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God ; 8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and 19close fto being cursed, and git ends up being burned.Better Things for You
