9 But we do see Him who was 1made afor a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, 2because of the suffering of death 3crowned with glory and honor, so that 4by the grace of God He might 5taste death 6for everyone. 10 For 7it was fitting for Him, 8for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to 9perfect the b10author of their salvation through sufferings. 11 For both He who 11sanctifies and those who 12are csanctified are all 13from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them 14brethren, 12 saying, "15I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE." 13 And again, "16I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM." And again, "17BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME." 14 Therefore, since the children share in d18flesh and blood, 19He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that 20through death He might render powerless 21him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through 22fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not egive help to angels, but He gives help to the fdescendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He ghad 23to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might 24become a merciful and faithful 25high priest in 26things pertaining to God, to 27make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was 28tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, California.
