1Therefore, 1holybrethren, partakers of a 2heavenlycalling, considerJesus, 3the Apostle and 4HighPriest of our 5confession ;
2aHe was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as 6Mosesalso was in all His house.
37For He has been countedworthy of moreglorythanMoses, by justsomuch as the builder of the househasmorehonor than the house.
4
For everyhouse is built by someone, but the builder of allthings is God.
5Now8Moses was faithful in all His house as 9a servant, 10for a testimony of those things 11which were to be spoken later;
6
but Christ was faithful as 12a Sonover His house -13whosehouse we are, 14if we holdfast our 15confidence and the boast of our 16hopefirmuntil the end.
7Therefore, just as 17the HolySpiritsays, "18TODAYIF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,
819DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS bWHEN THEY PROVOKED ME, AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,
920WHERE YOUR FATHERSTRIED Me BY TESTING Me, AND SAW MY WORKS FOR 21FORTYYEARS.
10
"22THEREFORE I WAS ANGRY WITH THISGENERATION, AND SAID, 'THEY ALWAYSGOASTRAY IN THEIR HEART, AND THEY DID NOT KNOW MY WAYS ';
1123AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, 'THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.' "
1224Takecare, brethren, that there not be in anyone of you an evil, unbelievingheartcthat fallsaway from 25the livingGod.
13
But 26encourageoneanotherdayafterday, as long as it is still called"Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the 27deceitfulness of sin.
14
For we have becomepartakers of Christ, 28if we holdfast the beginning of our 29assurancefirmuntil the end,
15while it is said, "30TODAYIF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS, AS dWHEN THEY PROVOKED ME."
16
For who31provoked Him when they had heard ? Indeed, 32did not allthosewhocame out of Egypt led by Moses ?
17
And with whom was He angry for fortyyears ? Was it not with thosewhosinned, 33whosebodiesfell in the wilderness ?
18
And to whom did He swear34that they would not enter His rest, but to thosewho were 35disobedient ?
19
So we see that they were not able to enterbecause of 36unbelief.
