6Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and thosewhoformerly had goodnewspreached to them failed to enterbecause of 1disobedience,
He againfixes a certainday, "Today," sayingathroughDavidaftersolong a timejust2as has been saidbefore, "3TODAYIF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS."
For 4ifbJoshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of anotherdayafter that.
9So there remains a Sabbathrest for the people of God.
For the one who has entered His rest has himselfalso5rested from his works, as 6God did from His.
11Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that noone will fall, through following the same7example of 8disobedience.
For 9the word of God is 10living and 11active and sharperthananytwo-edged12sword, and piercing as far as the division of 13soul and 14spirit, of bothjoints and marrow, and 15able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
And 16there is nocreaturehidden from His sight, but allthings are 17open and laidbare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
14Therefore, since we have a great18highpriestwho has 19passedthrough the heavens, Jesus20the Son of God, let us holdfast our 21confession.
For we do not have22a highpriestwhocannotsympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been 23tempted in allthings as we are, yet 24withoutsin.
16Therefore let us 25drawnear with 26confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receivemercy and findgrace to help in time of need.
