23aThe former priests, on the onehand, existed in greaternumbersbecause they were prevented by death from continuing,
but Jesus, on the otherhand, because He continues1forever, holds His priesthoodpermanently.
25Therefore He is ablealso to 2savebforeverthose who 3drawnear to Godthrough Him, since He alwayslives to 4makeintercession for them.
For it was fitting for us to have such a 5highpriest, 6holy, 7innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and 8exalted above the heavens;
27who does not needdaily , likethosehighpriests, to 9offer up sacrifices, 10first for His ownsins and then for the sins of the people, becausethis He did11once for all when He 12offered up Himself.
For the Lawappointsmen as highpriests13who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints 14a Son, 15madeperfectforever.
