11Send the tribute lamb to the ruler of the land, From a2Sela by way of the wilderness to the 3mountain of the daughter of Zion.
2
Then, like b4fleeingbirds or scatteredcnestlings, The daughters of 5Moab will be at the fords of the 6Arnon.
3
"dGive us advice, make a decision ; eCast your 7shadow like nightfat highnoon ; 8Hide the outcasts, do not betray the fugitive.
4
"Let the goutcasts of Moabstay with you; Be a hidingplace to them from the destroyer." For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased, 9Oppressors have completely disappeared from the land.
5
A 10throne will even be established in lovingkindness, And a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of 11David ; Moreover, he will seekjustice And be prompt in righteousness.
612We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessivepride ; Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury ; 13His idleboasts are hfalse .
7ThereforeMoab will wail ; everyone of Moab will wail. You will moan for the 14raisincakes of 15Kir-hareseth As those who are utterlystricken.
8
For the fields of 16Heshbon have iwithered, the vines of 17Sibmah as well; The lords of the nations have trampleddown its choiceclusters Which reached as far as Jazer and wandered to the deserts ; 18Its tendrilsspread themselves out and passedover the sea.
9Therefore I will 19weepbitterly for Jazer, for the vine of Sibmah ; I will drench you with my tears, O 20Heshbon and Elealeh ; For the shoutingover your 21summerfruits and your harvest has fallenaway.
1022Gladness and joy are takenaway from the fruitfulfield ; In the 23vineyards also there will be nocries of joy or jubilantshouting, No24treadertreads out wine in the presses, For I have made the shouting to cease.
11Therefore my j25heartintones like a harp for Moab And my kinwardfeelings for Kir-hareseth.
12
So it will come about whenMoab26presents himself, When he 27wearies himself upon his 28highplace And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.
13This is the wordwhich the LORDspokeearlierconcerningMoab.
14
But now the LORDspeaks, saying, "Within threeyears, as l29a hiredman would count them, the glory of 30Moab will be degraded along with all his greatpopulation, and his remnant will be verysmall and mimpotent ."
